The Goalposts

Three panels on the one thing AI still can't do.

A three-panel comic. First panel: a person sits with folded arms and says, GPT can't do art. The laptop in front of them replies, Oil, watercolor, or cosmic masterpiece? as a swirling Starry Night, a palette and a brush appear above it. Second panel: the person, hand on chin, says, Okay, but it can't make music. The laptop replies, Ballad, jazz, or film score? amid notes, a staff and a keyboard. Third panel: the person says, Sure, but math is different. The laptop answers, Apparently... stay inside my moving goalposts, over a page of solved integrals stamped Q.E.D. A second person stands beside a checklist with ART, MUSIC and MATH ticked off and a blank fourth line marked with question marks, and asks, So what can't it do? In the corner a small figure drags a goalpost away, captioned, Just a little farther.
The list always has one item left on it. It is never the same item.
